Fields of villas: the making of St John’s Wood
a talk by Mireille Galinou

It was an opportunity, ahead of publication, to hear about new research on St John's Wood. The author has been commissioned by the Eyre Estate to prepare a book on the development of St John's Wood and has been given full access to the previously uncatalogued and unpublished estate archive. Many new facts have emerged.

Mireille was formerly Curator of Paintings, Prints and Drawings at the Museum of London. she has worked on numerous exhibitions and publications, most notably London's Pride - A History of the Capital's Gardens (1990) and London in Paint, the Museum's Catalogue of Oil Paintings (1996).

For the former project she was able to reconstruct the garden of James Tissot at Grove End Road.
